Ona Illa Soler

Dr. Ona Illa Soler received her PhD in Chemistry in 2005 from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) under the supervision of Profs. V. Branchadell and R. M. Ortuño on the addition reactions of phosphinocarbenes to double bonds. After two postdoctoral stays at the Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France) in the group of Prof. Baceiredo and in the University of Bristol (UK) with Prof. V. Aggarwal, in 2008 she joined the UAB as a lecturer in chemistry. In 2018 she obtained a permanent position as Associate Professor at UAB. Her current research interests include the design and synthesis of new functional molecules for applications in medicinal chemistry and materials science.
