Antonio Franconetti García

Dr. Antonio Franconetti studied chemistry at University of Seville where he also obtained his Master in Neuroscience and received his PhD (2016) working with Prof. Francisca Cabrera-Escribano and Prof. Jesús Jiménez-Barbero on non-covalent interactions and their application to different materials based on the chitosan polysaccharide. After two postdoctoral positions at different Universities (UAB and Baleares), he moved to the Chemical Glycobiology Lab (CIC bioGUNE) led by Prof. Jiménez-Barbero as Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral researcher. He began another postdoc position at University of Milan that finished because he was appointed Associate Professor at UAB in 2024. His research interests are focused on supramolecular chemistry, carbohydrates, and modelling always combining both experimental and computational perspectives.
