Afton Fults is a rising 4th-year undergraduate student visiting from Rice University (Houston, TX). She is completing a B.S in Chemistry with a concentration in organic and medicinal chemistry, a B.A. in Biosciences with a concentration in biochemistry, a minor in Medical Humanities, and a language certificate in Spanish. In Houston, she completed an independent project working on the synthesis of substituted tetrahydroquinolines via Prins-Ritter cyclization under the supervision of Dr. Damian Young at Baylor College of Medicine, and she is now working on the synthesis of novel allosteric modulators of cannabinoid receptors here at UAB
