Prof. Josep Font passes away

The SynOrgFun group regrets to report that Prof. Josep Font Cierco passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023  at the age of 84. During his distinguished career, Prof. Font enjoyed teaching organic chemistry and mentoring graduate and PhD students. Prof. Font was part of a generation of chemists who laid the foundations for the current development of organic chemistry in Catalonia and Spain. He was a pioneer in the development of photochemical reactions and their use on organic synthesis. Prof. Font will be remembered for his warm personality, knowledge, professional rigor, and dedication to the university. He will be very missed by all of us.
